研究方向
海洋浮游生物生态与生物海洋学研究,包括浮游生物多样性与生产过程,浮游生物海洋学。
研究工作
  发现铝可增加海洋碳汇,在地球历史气候变化过程中发挥重要作用,提出关于全球气候变化的创新理论“铁-铝假说”;主持中国科学院A类战略性先导科技专项课题“黑潮及其变异对南海生态系统的影响”,组织物理海洋、海洋化学和海洋生物等多学科团队开展黑潮及其变异对南海生态系统影响研究,阐明了南海东北部高生产力机制,初步摸清了珠江口海域低氧程度、分布及关键生物生产特异性。
