代表性成果：

主要从事海洋浮游动物多样性和生态学等方面的研究，2013年以来主持国家自然科学基金4项，参加课题2项，以第一作者和通讯作者发表学术论文13篇，其中SCI收录10篇。参加国内外学术会议5次。参加大型海洋科学综合考察3航次，主要成果概述如下：

（1）浮游动物多样性研究： 发现和描述了南海浮游被囊动物火体虫纲一新记录种短轮火体虫（Pyrosoma verticillata），发现南海浮游被囊动物有尾纲3新记录种，并系统报道了东印度洋有尾纲25种，发现和描述了南海浮游介形类3新种：刘氏深海浮萤Bathyconchoecia liui n. sp. 缺刻深海浮萤Bathyconchoecia incisa sp. nov.和南沙深海浮萤Bathyconchoecia nanshaensis sp. nov. 。

（2）浮游动物生态学研究：发现大亚湾胶质类浮游动物丰度在整个浮游动物丰度中的比例在上升，饵料浮游动物是以个体较小的枝角类占优势，并能在短时期内暴发。阐明了大亚湾中华哲水蚤的种群动态和补充过程，其种群输送和滞留时间与南海北部夏季沿岸上升流的强度相关。发现Gulf of Alaska湾海樽暴发能抑制春季藻华发生，影响初级生产的能量传递，从而减少渔业资源补充。
